I favor parlor objects from the 19th century that have a background history. The stereoscope is a three dimensional viewing devise and was used by middle class families from 1839 (the invention of photography) until the 1930s. This is a "reduction" cork block print with silver metallic ink on Japanese mulberry paper. Unlike Japanese printmakers, I use a manual press instead of a hand baren to print. The image is defined by blue lines using a key block in the final stage of printing.
