Autumn Breeze (2011)
Media Technique: Copper plate etching & aquatint

Edition size:
Inspiration:
In the autumn, I like to watch the leaves fall like colored gems from the trees in Eaglecreek Park. This print is my attempt at playing with oblique angles to indicate the serpentine movement of falling leaves and rising chimney smoke. The high vantage point gives the viewer a feeling of vertigo. I chose a yellow and sienna aquatint to convey the warmth of Indian summer. I have made many variations of this print, in etching with applied water color and in color reduction block.
