Inspiration:
This linocut print shows a frightened elk trapped in a snowy meadow between pines as smoke billows from a fire hidden by mountains on the horizon. Fire is an ever present danger in the mountainous West and, like water, has helped shape the landscape. I am playing with scale in this image to create depth of field. I like Art Deco style so I decided to incorporate the decorative edge using a separate block in which to insert the landscape.
